About Me

My Background

I grew up doing paintings and sculptures since I was three. after entering college at Washington State University I started carving in stone. After two and a half years at WSU I transferred to Cornish of the Fine Arts in Seattle, Wa. I am self taught as a stone carver with help along the way. 20 years later I have found my soul as a carver. I am one with the rock and I give it life in a new form. You can find my works currently at Chuckanut Gallery just south of Bellingham, Wa., Matzke Fine Art Gallery on Camano Island, Wa. and White Bird Gallery in Cannon Beach, Or.  I have been featured in several shows in Oregon and a featured artist in Southwest Art Magazine. Camano Island Library showcases my juried public sculpture. I have workshops for the adventure seeker would wants to learn how to carve stone. Please contact me with any questions you may have about my artwork. Looking forward to hearing from you!

My Medium

My Focus is stone and paintings. Large scale paintings and sculptures is my specialty, I have prints available of my selected paintings. I create hyper realism artwork that requires years of experience, patience and a lot of time to complete a single piece.

My Inspiration

My inspiration lies in my surroundings. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life and I feel its heart beat. I capture life from nature and how it adapts to mankind. there is a strong bond from nature and I. I want to protect wildlife and our surroundings so we can enjoy it for future generations. I express through bronze/stone/paint a glimpse of life, reality with extreme detail. Using texture, contrast and detailed finished areas. Co existing is a big part in my art work. Isolating the object in time and bringing the beauty from within come to the surface.
